Poison’s Bret Michaels and Bobby Dall clash at the end of Atlanta concert

By Patrick Luce Aug 29, 2006, 14:12 GMT

Poison’s frontman Bret Michaels and bass player Bobby Dall clashed at the end of an Atlanta concert on Friday (August 25th) which resulted in the two getting into a fight before the band’s encore to close the show.

The two were seen arguing before the fight – which included  Michaels throwing his microphone at Dall, and Dall slamming his bass into Michaels and injuring his knee. The two were then separated by drummer Rikki Rockett and several of the band’s roadies.

Atlanta’s blow up was not the first time the four members of Poison have broken out into a fight, but this is the first onstage incident since the fistfight between Michaels and Poison guitarist C.C. Deville at the MTV Video Awards in 1991. That fight took place after the performance had ended.

The band is currently on the road in support of their current release ‘The Best Of Poison: 20 Years Of Rock.’ The concerts have attracted huge crowds all across the country, and there have been no reports of the tour ended due to the conflict between the two members. The tour is scheduled to last until September 2nd, and the band’s concert in Arkansas on Sunday (Aug. 27th) was incident free.

Michaels has also apologized to fans for the fight, and posted a message on the group’s fan website stating "That s**t has been building up for 20 years. We are like brothers, and sometimes brothers want to knock the f**k out of each other."

this doesn't suprise me... seems that while the rest of the band hang out together before and after the shows, Bret is always on his bus, doing his own thing. It seems to have been building for awhile

Unless you have actually met Bret hold onto your negative comments. He is actually one of the most down to earth people I've had the pleasure of meeting and partying with. Sometimes..., shit happens. We don't know the details of the incident. I do know that he is usually very open about the band's mishaps. Maybe this is none of our business.

I agree with the above post... Bret Michaels is one of the most down to Earth guys in rock.. The whole band are amazing, and it's true... Every now and then stuff blows up... Unfortunately it had to happen in front of a crowd... Let me tell you what, I've seen Poison 16 times over their 20 years... This past tour was probably the best I have ever heard them sound... I caught them three times this tour, Hershey, PA, Holmdel, NJ, and Wildwood, NJ... Awesome...

I hope to see them next year...

That explains SO much. I went with some friends and seen them in Nashville in July and then again on August 27th in Little Rock. He said that he was sick and that his knee was hurt but didn't explain how. I knew that the chemistry was not like it was in Nashville, but I just blew it off. These guys have kicked butt for 20 years, sure they are going to get in a fight, but dang did Bobby really have to mess up Brets knee. And to the comment that Bret just goes into the bus, he did do that in Little Rock, but he was fighting his blood sugar. In Nashville he was awesome!

All the guys in Poison are great. I know Bobby well and the reason for the blow up was a sceduling conflict. Bobby also acts as sort of manager setting the tour up and Bret didn't want to do a show that Bobby sceduled, shit happens
see you next year.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bret Michaels at the Comstock Rock Festival in July. He is sincere, down to earth and an overall genuine guy. He talked to me for nearly 15 minutes before heading back to the staging area. Bret is world class guy! Keep on ROCKIN!!

Ive been a huge Poison Fan since age 12, I am now 32. Ive seen Poison several times, and Bret's solo Tour twice. I saw Poison Aug-06 and just recently saw Bret perform solo 11-06. Yes, Bret will sometimes go to his bus... As a fan I myself get disappointed, but I also have diabetes. When you're busting your ass, sweating, for 90 minutes or more... blood sugar acts up. You have to stay hydrated, people without every experiencing what high sugar can do to you, or what low blood sugar can do... just will never understand. Im sorry but either did I til I experienced it first hand. Even though Ive seen it my whole life with members of my immediate family. Bret is very down to earth, he doesnt treat anyone less than like most musicians. Hey who amoung us has never fought with a best friend or a close buddy. A friend for 20 years is like a brother, you fight, you make up... life goes on. Its just theyre in the public eye, and people like to talk shit. It was simply a fight between friends, we all have them, life goes on. Its noone's fault.
ps.. Damn if anyone told me at 14 that Bret could get hotter, I wouldnt have believed it... but damn... He is fine! I had good taste at 12! ;-)

To the guy that said the fight started over a scheduling conflict is nonsense. Bobby doesnt schedule the tourdates, and even if he did, why would Bret - at the end of a concert- just decide to chuck his microphone at Bobby over a scheduling conflict??? Did Bobby schedule the tourdate during the last song or something? lol Thats the most retarded thing Ive ever heard.

i saw them talking about it on TV and they said they were fighting about what songs to put in the set list and it escalted to this. i saw them in june and they were great and didnt seem to be mad @ each other anymore. they're touring together, they probably get a little sick of each other too. and who hasnt had a fight with their best friend (verbal or physical)? ya, this wasnt one of their finest moments but after 21 years, lets face it: they still kick ass!

Watched Poison at the Rock2Wellington concerts over the weekend in New Zealand. Amazing going so strong after all these years. They rocked along with Alice Cooper, Lordi, Ozzy, Kiss and Whitesnake. What a weekend.
