Singer John Mayer backs out of performance due to laryngitis

A bad case of laryngitis was blamed for singer/songwriter John Mayer’s no-show at a concert on Saturday night where fans waited at the Dodge Music Center, in Hartford, before an announcement was made about Mayer’s illness.Mayer, whose hits include “Your Body is a Wonderland” and “Daughters,” is currently the co-headliner of a tour with Sheryl Crow and opening act Mat Kearney. The concert did go on without Mayer, but the no-show left many fans a bit disappointed.A press release stated the singer felt “terrible about the sudden cancellation” and does plan to return to Connecticut. The release also confirms Mayer’s back out was due to a "sudden onset" of laryngitis. Fans who did not cross the entrance gate and have their tickets torn will be entitled to a refund of the ticket price due to Mayer’s absence from the show.
