Rolling Stones to keep on rocking
Aug 24, 2006, 13:05 GMT
The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood says he will keep touring 'until he drops'.
The rocker - who launched a new collection of his paintings at the Scream gallery in London last night (24.08.06) - insists playing live is still a passion for him even after being involved in the music business for over four decades.
He told BANG Showbiz: 'I love it. It's tiring but I love it. I'll keep rocking for as long as I can... until I drop.' Ronnie, 59, recently revealed how, after years of hell-raising, the band are now all well behaved on tour. The guitarist - who is a reformed alcoholic - told Britain's Independent newspaper: 'Keith still has a few drinks, but even he has been watching himself recently. Charlie doesn't touch anything now, and Mick will only have a glass of wine on a night off. 'The show we played in Paris, I was straight as a die. It did feel weird not to be hiding behind alcohol or dope, but being focused was good.' Ronnie thinks he is too old to drink anymore - even if he wanted to. He revealed: 'I just think my body can't handle it anymore. I did try a little drink a while back, and I was actually physically ill. I went into an immediate depression, and felt awful, just dreadful.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
