This week music store shelves will see the self-titled debut album of Paris Hilton finally arrive, the return of OutKast with the release of ‘Idlewild,’ and country-rock fans will be able to get their hands on Pat Green’s long awaited ‘Cannonball.’
Simply titled ‘Paris,’ Hilton’s first release is described by the singer as being a blending of several of her favorite music genres – including pop, reggae, and hip-hop (I guess punk rock fans will have to wait for the follow-up). The 11-track album has been in development since 2004 and sees Hilton teaming up with a range of industry leaders including Fat Joe and Jadakiss. It is being released on the Warner Bros. label, and had tracks produced by Greg Wells and Kara DioGuardi, Jane Wiedlin, and Scott Storch.
The first single "Stars are Blind" is already seeing some success on both the singles chart and with the heavy rotation of the song’s video. Other track titles include “Fightin' Over Me,” “Do Ya Think I'm Sexy,” and “Screwed.”

OutKast’s ‘Idlewild’ arrives three days before the premiere of the duo’s movie of the same name, and also serves as the film’s soundtrack. The duo (consisting of Andre 3000 and Big Boi) have said the movie has been a longtime dream. ‘Idlewild’ (their sixth studio release) is considered by many to be OutKast’s crowning achievement, and will feature a blend of styles that fans expect from the duo.
The first single from the album is set to be "The Mighty O", and features both Andre 3000 and Big Boi. It is a good example of the album’s mix of hip hop and more traditonal American musical styles. The album’s second single "Idlewild Blues (Don'tchu Worry 'Bout Me)" features a solo from Andre 3000, and has a bluesier feel to it.
The 25-track album has a cross blend of solos from the two performers and also features guest appearances by Sleepy Brown, Janelle Monae, and Macy Gray. The film also features OutKast joined by some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Terrence Howard,Patti LaBelle, and Ving Rhames.

Three-time Grammy nominee Pat Green is hoping to bring his own style of country to the masses with his first BNA Records album ‘Cannonball.’ The explosive new album is said to capture the Texas native’s provocative songwriting style with new sharpness and swagger.
This is the singers first time to work with a major Nashville powerhouse, and the singer and his label hope ‘Cannonball’ will help transform Green from the cult star to emerging country superstar. The singer, who has toured with everyone from the Dave Matthew's Band to Kenny Chesney, has stated he felt like the new 14-track album was a “home run,” and that he wanted to keep his “brand of independent music” while releasing it on a larger scale.
The album’s first single “Feels Like It Should” is said to encapsulates the entire spirit of ‘Cannonball.” The single got its premiere on the AOL Music First Listen program - which previously has introduced singles by Kenny Chesney, Usher, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Christina Aguilera and Destiny’s Child. The singer has also stated his enthusiasm for such new songs as “Dixie Lullaby,” “Way Back Texas,” “Love Like That” and the rowdy title cut.
