Kiss’ “Starchild” Paul Stanley goes solo on new album ‘Live to Win’

Kiss frontman and guitarist Paul Stanley is shedding the make-up for a new solo studio album called ‘Live to Win’ (his first solo album since 1978) scheduled to be released October 24th on Universal’s New Door label. The singer is also expected to launch a solo tour in the fall to support the release.

The album saw Stanley teaming with a number of musicians including former Kiss member guitarist Bruce Kulick, and former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5. Stanley also teamed with various songwriters for the album including Desmond Child.All of the Kiss members released solo album in 1978 (it is said that Ace Frehley's album had the most success) in an attempt to showcase the members individual styles and reportedly ease tension in the band. Stanley’s solo album stayed pretty close to Kiss’ rocking style, and did manage to make it onto the Billboard charts Top 50.
