Country singer Lyle Lovett cancels U.K. tour
By M&C News Aug 15, 2006, 13:09 GMT
Country music singer/songwriter Lyle Lovett has canceled a planned U.K. seven date tour that would have kicked off in Birmingham in October and seen the singer return after a three year absence.
The exact reason for the cancellation is unclear at this time. Lovett’s spokesman has claimed it was due to a recording commitment, a spokesman with London’s Royal Albert Hall blamed it on unforeseen circumstances, and Canada's Toronto Star blamed poor ticket sales in an article that featured an interview with Lovett.
The singer, who has always been seen as a bit alternative country and was once married to Julia Roberts, is currently on a North American tour that will last through mid-September.
