Katharine McPhee breaks foot, but will stay on American Idol tour

American Idol runner-up and RCA recording label singer Katharine McPhee fractured her left foot before a performance on Tuesday night in Charlotte, N.C., but will remain on the tour with the other Idols. McPhee apparently tripped backstage before the concert, but did manage to perform for the fans – singing two songs. The singer then went to a Charlotte hospital for X-rays that revealed a hairline fracture in her left foot, according to statements from a RCA spokesman.The singer, who lost the competition to Taylor Hicks, had just returned to the other Idols on Friday after being pulled from the tour following doctor’s orders to rest and heal up from a case of bronchitis.
