Dolls looking for a new Pussycat
By M&C News Aug 3, 2006, 14:35 GMT

The Pussycat Dolls are currently scratching up the radio and video charts with their single “Buttons” and are now looking to stretch out into reality television when the band goes on the prowl for a new member in an upcoming reality series “The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll” on the new CW Network. The show will be an eight-part series with the winner joining the current Dolls six member line-up.
The Pussycat Dolls began their career as a burlesque dance show in 1995. The Dolls first gained media attention by inviting celebrities to join them for their risqué live stage shows. Celebs that join the Dolls on stage include a blend of actresses and musical performers ranging from Drew Barrymore and Charlize Theron to Britney Spears and Christian Aguilera.
The girls jumped onto the music scene with the release of their first album ‘PCD’ in 2005 – which went on to sell more than 5 million copies worldwide. The album went on to score a number of hits including “Buttons,” “Don’t Cha” and “Stickwitu.”
For the series, the group’s founder and choreographer Robin Antin plans on putting hopeful Pussycats through a series of challenges with both taped and live broadcast segments.
