Shock rock king Alice Cooper to open a Christian recreation center for kids

By M&C News Aug 1, 2006, 20:41 GMT

Alice Cooper, the rocker who brought to life the term “shock rock” has announced plans to open a $3 million Christian recreation center in Phoenix, Arizona aimed at helping troubled kids.

Cooper, 58 and now a born-again Christian, is in the process of raising the money for the center – which will be called “The Rock.”  Although the center will have Christian themes, the singer has pointed out that it will also provide kids with sports and other activities in addition to spiritual activities.

The singer has stated he wanted to do something to help kids that are trapped in the middle of a world that surrounds them with shootings, drug addiction, and gang life.

Cooper also plans to give the kids a chance to learn from his and other rockers experiences. He has already asked other rock icons, such as Ted Nugent, to come to the center and talk with kids.

Alice Cooper is NOT a Christian.

He portrays evil: Necrophilia, poison, drug use, rebellion, rape, you name it - and STILL, after he calls himself Christian, he continues his persona to millions of people.

Jesus said that if the tree is good, the fruit is good.

Alice Cooper says he's good, but his 'fruit' is not.

When you give your life to Christ, everything changes, even at the sake of your career and moneybag. Alice clings to Mammon, and horrific, horrible things Christ detested, and then says that because his family life is okay, everything's cool.

Have you forgotten? Satan said to Christ, 'All these kingdoms I will give you, if you fall down and worship me.' Alice, like all aging devils, give charity, money, anything you like, if you'll believe him. Christ made it clear: GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN.

His charity means nothing to God. If Alice was saved, he'd horribly reprimand his character and confess to the world that what he did, and portrayed, was WRONG, and he'll NEVER DO IT AGAIN. His talent, which is great, would be converted to GOOD. But NO, he does NOT. Even John said, 'Let your works be in accordance with repentance.' Alice Cooper does NOT repent. It doesn't work, hands down.

He influenced me greatly, but only for the bad. Only Jesus saved me from demonic influences like him. There is no recourse. And you know it.

Don't be so quick to judge, we look at the exterior-He looks at the heart. Jesus didn't come to tell Zaccheus to stop being a tax collector, He came to tell him the gospel (a heart change not a career one). We are to grow where we are planted. What satan has planned for evil, God has used for good, this is Alice's mission field. Unfortunately we aren't the only people who judge by the outside appearance. They judge us-Alice is approachable to those in that rebellious environment. God works behind the scenes & we don't know how many lighting, sound, stagehands, arena workers, fans, etc.. are being touched & lives saved because of Alice's position.

We are to be in the world & not of it. How awesome it is that because of Zaccheus' conversion, people would come to him because they know he wouldn't take advantage of them. We have no idea how much of the gospel that would come forth when people would ask why he was different than all the others. Being a chief tax collector, he had access to people of all ranks of life.

Do I agree with 'blood & stuff' that Alice may have done in the past, no but it sounds like Father has revealed that to him. We are to be held accountable for that which has been revealed to us & that which has been taught. I don't know his church background nor how 'learned he is in the scripture' but love thinks the best. From all the revealed revelation I see. I stand with Jesus and judge him righteous. He is perfecting the saints to perfection. Thus we aren't perfected yet. The yoke of a pharisaical attitude will choke the life out of a person. We are called to bring life-how far would you go to do so?

Please take notice on how different and convoluted theological comments can be. Why? Because the bible was written by humans. Humans have wild imaginations and a need to control other humans.Especially say a few thousand years ago when humans were not aware of the laws of physics and that they could not be broken (at least not in this universe.) Thankfully, humans are slowly evolving toward a more logical brain. This is the only thing that will save humanity. (We probably won't make it that far!) Religion only leads to war and/or control. Believing in it does save many a bad egg, and thusly should be no more than a state of mind for the spiritually needy. Alice got it right.

It worries me that we all asume Alice Cooper is the born-again type of Christian that we are. In fact his father was a minister in the Church of Jesus Christ (Mormons) and his grandfather was a so-called apostle in the same church. Now any true born-again Christian should be able to tell you that the Mormons are a cult, do not follow the same god incarnate (Jesus) as we do and therefore cannot have the Holy Spirit residing in their heart. No wonder Alice Cooper still performs these evil practises on stage. He has an unregenerated heart.

Many of the judgemental comments here directed towards Alice are the reason most of the non-saved world reject 'Christianity'. They see we are experts at devouring our own and we misrepresent Jesus Christ in doing so. Those of you who question anyone's salvation...well I could in turn question yours because no one knows the heart except the One who made hearts-Jesus Himself. I have been born again for 18 years and I can tell you that those in the 'Church' who claim to be so on fire for Jesus, born again and filled with His love are often the most mean spirited, unloving and anything but love filled. They are experts on 'doctrine' but vacant of the heart of Christianity which is love. Obadiah 1:3 'the pride of your heart has deceived you'. Of course you think :you' are right on with the Lord but seek to sniff out anything and everything in anybody else's walk taht you can point at and wage your finger about. Just like the Pharisees you measure yourself against others and always find others...lacking. Measure yourself against Jesus and His mercy and then you may be humbled! Many will be surprised in the end when we see who made it to heaven and who didn't ! The Jesus I know is full of Mercy that we cannot even begin to grasp and as David said he woudl rather fall into the hands of God who is merciful then the hands of men who are not. May God abundantly bless my brother Alice Cooper and use him as He see's fit !

Wolftraps comments are utter NONSENSE. Alice Cooper is a CHARACTER and not a real person. Vincent Furnier has just as much right as ANYBODY to attend church. The last time I checked, this was the United States of America and you were FREE to worship how, where and when you wanted.
