Iconic rock band The Who will take to the stage on September 12th in Philadelphia as the group launches their first world tour in more than 20 years.
The tour will include dates across the United States and Canada and last into December. The band also plan to tour parts of South America, East Asia and Europe next year, and release a new studio album – the first since 1982. The Who, which first burst onto the music scene in 1965 as a rocking four member group, will once again be led by the two original members - the flamboyant singer Roger Daltrey and power guitarist Pete Townshend and will be joined on the tour by John "Rabbit" Bundrick on keyboards, and Pino Palladino on bass.
The Who’s drummer on the tour will be Zak Starkey – the son of another icon in rock music Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Townshend's younger brother Simon will also join the group on tour providing backing vocals and guitar.
