Country singer LeAnn Rimes was forced to cancel three concerts this week due to an upcoming surgery for a leg infection, according to the singer’s publicist.
Rimes (23) is scheduled to have surgery in Los Angles today following a tissue tear in one of her legs, according to the state from publicist Diana Baron.
"It's a minor surgery, but because of the infection it was urgent that she takes care of it right away," Baron said.
The singer has canceled performances scheduled for Thursday in Hampton Beach, N. H., and shows on Friday and Saturday at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Although the singer is having surgery, she is still expected to fulfill the remaining dates of her “This Woman” tour after what is expected to be a short recovery.
Rimes burst onto the country music scene at the age of 13 with the hit single “Blue” (which earned her two Grammy awards) and saw continued success with the massive crossover hit “How Do I Live.”
The singer had a comeback of sorts with the 2005 release of ‘This Woman’ which has seen strong sales fueled by the hit singles “Nothin' 'Bout Love Makes Sense” and "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way."
