Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings inducted into RockWalk

Country music icons Kris Kristofferson and the late Waylon Jennings were inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk of Fame on Thursday – adding another milestone to their careers. Country singer Jessi Colter (Jennings widow) stood in for Jennings who died Feb. 13th, 2002, of diabetic complications at age 64 in Chandler, ArizonaKristofferson has had a career both in film and country music. He is a song writer and singer with several hits that include “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” “Me and Bobby McGee.” Jennings (who also had a career in film) was one of the original singers in Country’s “outlaw” movement - which broke from the tradition Nashville sound and recording style. His hits included “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys” (which was recorded with fellow outlaw Willie Nelson), and “I’m a Ramblin’ Man.” Kristofferson and Jennings were both members of the country music supergroup The Highwaymen – which also included Nelson and the late Johnny Cash.
