Producer Dallas Austin pleads guilty to cocaine charges in Dubai

Music producer Dallas Austin pled guilty to cocaine charges on Sunday in the United Arab Emirates, and could now face up to four years in prison, according to newspaper reports.
Austin was quoted as stating he pled guilty to the charge, but that it he had no knowledge or intention of breaking laws in the United Arab Emirates. He was arrested on May 19th at the Dubai’s airport while traveling to a Dubai hotel to attend a birthday party for Naomi Campbell.
The Grammy winning producer has worked on several hits for a who’s who of leading music industry performers including Pink’s “Just Like a Pill,” and TLC’s “Unpretty.” He won a Grammy for his work on TLC’s ‘Fanmail’ in 1999, and has also been involved in the movie ‘Drumline’ and ‘ATL.’
