Sony BMG’s Nashville labels are rocking the country this week with the #1 through #4 songs on both the Billboard and Radio & Records country airplay charts.
At Billboard, BNA Records superstar Kenny Chesney holds at #1 for the fourth consecutive week, garnering more airplay – 5358 monitored spins – than any country song this year, and more than any country single since Sony BMG’s Alan Jackson topped the charts with “Remember When” in January of 2004.
In 2006, Chesney leads all country artists with seven Billboard weeks at #1, having also notched three weeks on the summit with “Living in Fast Forward.”
The four most-played songs in Billboard round out with Brad Paisley’s “The World” at #2, Phil Vassar’s “Last Day of My Life” at #3 and “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” the latest smash from Carrie Underwood, at #4.
Remarkably, all three of those tracks are from Sony BMG’s Arista Nashville label, which also claims the #7 song this week with Keith Anderson’s “Every Time I Hear Your Name.”
Remarkably, across all four of Sony BMG’s country labels – Arista Nashville, BNA, Columbia Nashville, and RCA Nashville – each of the above-mentioned hits combine with a dozen other current country radio singles from such artists as Brooks & Dunn, Gretchen Wilson, Pat Green, Sara Evans, Trent Willmon, Miranda Lambert, and Jake Owen – to bring Sony BMG to more than 35% of the chart’s total plays and audience impressions this week.
