Spector set for murder trial in January

Beatles producer Phil Spector’s will head into a courtroom in January 2007 for the charges of murder in the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson three years ago in his home.
Spector (66) has pleaded not guilty to the charge and is currently free on $1 million bail. The producer was also not at the hearing which set the trial date. Clarkson was best known for her roles in Barbarian Queen and Amazon Women on the Moon.
The shooting took place in February 2003 in Spector’s Los Angles’ home, and it is believed the two met at a nightclub on the Sunset Trip. Police reports state that the actress died from a single gunshot would – after a pistol was placed in her mouth and fired. Spector has claimed the actress committed suicide.
