R&B Grammy winner Beyonce has announced the 10 female band members that will be hitting the road with her when the singer launches her solo tour in support of her new album ‘B’Day.’
Early in June, the singer announced that she would host an open search for female musicians to form her touring band – which resulted in more than 1,000 hopefuls auditioning for Beyonce’s creative team. Finalist were then narrowed down and flown to New York to perform for the singer’s final decision.
To make the cut, the hopefuls had to perform the singer’s “Work It Out,” demonstrate their talents in a solo, and of course have a certain “look” that matched Beyonce’s style.
The singer made it clear that she was looking for musicians only and not back up singers, dancers or to form a new group. The musicians will make up a horn sections, drum and percussions, keyboards, bass and guitar.
The new album is set to be released on Sept. 4th in time for the singer’s 25th birthday and comes on the heels of her huge selling solo debut ‘Dangerously In Love’ which earn multiple Grammy awards.
