Luther Vandross returns in August with an ultimate collection

The late Luther Vandross will return to store shelves on August 22nd with ‘The Ultimate Luther Vandross Collection’ – which includes former released singles and previously unreleased material. The album is the creation of three recording labels that worked with Vandross during his career, and includes “Shine” and “Got You Home” along with 16 other tracks of singles that range from “Here and Now” to “Dance with My Father.” The album will also feature some of Vandross collaborations with other performers including Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey.

Vandross won eight Grammy awards and sold more than 20 million albums during his recording career. The singer died July 1, 2005, at the age of 54. A tribute album ‘So Amazing: An All-Star Tribute to Luther Vandross’ was released in September of 2005 and featured a collection of Vandross songs covered by a wide spectrum of music industry performers including Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Celine Dion, and Wyclef Jean.
