I just saw your article (that you have taken down within the past five minutes) about the Dixie Chicks cancelling tours in TN? Then, when I go to their site, they say that such reports are false. So when I return to your site, instead you say that ticket sales are in a slump. What's the deal?
Several news organizations and websites are reporting that the Chicks are looking at small ticket sales and possibly canceling shows. I don’t know any specific shows that have been cancelled, but it is being reported that shows could be postponed or canceled.
It is not uncommon for any band to cancel a show if the ticket sales do not support the event.

We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Interesting the chicks deny their 'tour' was cancelled. The tour may go on but a number of individual concerts are facing cancellation. Sounds like the chicks are skilled at spin but not truthfulness.
They really ought to humble themselves and apologize. If they'd just do that their tickets sales would spike.
No doubt they are spinning it. Just read the response - they will continue to play concerts where their fans support them. If it is slacking ticket sales, they will cancel the show because the fans don't support them there. that is total spin control. who cares. i think everyone should get over what was said. it isn't like she was the first celeb to speak her mind about politics. personally, i think they are using the whole mess as press fodder. even bad news is good press if it keeps your name in the headlines.

the sentiment is absolutely correct, but speach is spelled speech.
The Dixie Chicks trashed the Commander in Chief on foreign soil with our troops on the ground in harms way. That was stupid, stupid and more stupid. They forced thier fans to decide on them or good taste,and our brave fighting soldiers.The choice was easy for most intelligent people. The Dixie Chicks sing like birds but unfortunatly have brains to match.I'm sorry that they're from Texas. I think thier record sales are due to Bush haters who could care less about hearing or seeing them.
The Dixie Chicks trashed the commander in chief before troops were on the ground. The troops got on the ground because your commander in chief lied to you up one side and down the next, and you, apparently, believed him -- or don't care. Long live the Chicks. They got it right in my opinion.
Liked their music but hate their holier than thou attitude, as with all 'celebrities' who think because they have 'entertaining' talent they have the right to tell the rest of us how we should think. Yes, they have freedom of speech, but so do we all. My freedom of speech is to constantly remind others what these bimbos said. While my son is fighting risking his life, I will not sit silently by while spoiled little girls can't keep their trap shut. Comments that Natalie always spoke her mind even as a little girl only shows that she had absolutely no respect for anyone and still doesn't. No, you don't have to like our President, but you should show respect for him or her. Especially in a time of war. Dixie Chicks would not have the freedom they enjoy under the terrorists' rule. Too bad we can't all be as perfect as they are. Idiots.
The Commander in Chief lied?
Ding! Wrong. Every Democratic Party talking point you cite as proof of that has been proven wrong. No weapons of mass destruction blah blah blah. Over 500 artillery shells WITH chemical agents in them were found AND reported on.
Bush worked with the UN for a year to get everyone on the same page before the deployment happened. Lo and behold we find out that Sadaam was paying off or doing business with the Russians and the French in direct violation of the oil for food program. Kofi Annan was getting kickbacks as was his son.
The girls music is so-so at best. While we're on the subject of lying, how about the statement on their website that the news reports that concerts were being cancelled were false. Turns out that wasnt true. Or does the Washington Post and The new York Times lie? Until you've had someone die in your arms over there shut up because you have no idea what your talking about and your posts are proof of that.
