Def Leppard and Journey team up for tour

It was only a matter of time; one of America’s biggest arena rockers would eventually join up with their U.K. equivalent for a large-scale tour.  Journey and Def Leppard are poised to hit the road this summer for a three-month trek across the United States. The tour kicks June 23rd in Camden, New Jersey, and wraps August 31st in Seattle.

Disappointingly, vocalist Steve Perry will not be accompanying Journey on the upcoming tour despite an appearance with the band last year at an awards gala. Singer Steve Augeri will head up the mic duties, the position he’s held since 1998.

This summer, Def Leppard plan on releasing a new covers album, which will see the group tackle songs from such bands as Thin Lizzy, E.L.O. and Bad Finger to name a few.
