Bono looking to achieve Nirvana

The private equity company, Elevation Partners, which includes U2 singer Bono as a partner, is reportedly interested in acquiring a stake in the back catalogue of grunge rockers Nirvana. Kurt Cobain’s widow and current tabloid queen Courtney Love owns the publishing rights to the group's songs. Cobain committed suicide in April 1994.Love is apparently looking to sell a 25 per cent stake in the band's back catalogue, which includes songs such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Heart Shaped Box,” “Lithium” and “Come As You Are.”Along with Elevation Partners, other interested buyers include music group, Sanctuary, media group Chrysalis and intellectual property rights company Chorion. Love reportedly is selling because the burden of owning the catalogue has become overwhelming and while this may be true, many speculate the move is another attempt by the former Hole singer to cash in on Cobain’s legacy.
