Robbie Williams made peace with 50 cent after he beat the rap star to the title of Best International Male at the NRJ awards in Cannes, France.
The British pop star and the rapper fell-out last year after they stayed at the same German hotel.
Robbie had complained to staff about the noise coming from 50's room as he tried to sleep. The hip-hop star later said the 'Angels' singer had only complained about his party because he was bitter because he refused to meet him. However, Robbie shook the rapper's hand as he made his way up to the stage at the prestigious ceremony - organized by the NRJ radio station. In his acceptance speech, Robbie said: 'I want to pay respect to Mr. 50 Cent in the audience.' Other winners at the star-studded event, held on Saturday (21.01.06), included The Black Eyed Peas - who scooped the Best International Group and Best International Album accolades - Madonna and Latin singer Shakira. Madonna failed to turn up to accept her award for Best International Female and disappointed audiences by neglecting to record a video message as an acceptance speech. Shakira delighted crowds by shouting 'I love France!' when accepting the award for Best International Song, for hit track 'La Tortura.' British star Bob Geldof also praised the French for their 'good taste' forb granting him an honorary award for his organization of the Live 8 concerts in July.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
