Second U2 concert sells out in 90 minutes
Dec 12, 2005, 3:03 GMT
Wellington - Hundreds of New Zealand fans who camped out in queues for up to 42 hours snapped up 38,000 tickets in 90 minutes on Monday for a second U2 concert in March in Auckland.
The Irish band agreed to schedule a second concert after tickets for their first on St Patrick's Day, March 17, sold out just as quickly a week ago.
Many fans still missed out, and the last person to get a ticket in Wellington had been queuing outside a record shop for 18 hours, Radio New Zealand reported.
Sales were limited to four tickets per person, compared with eight for the first concert, to deter scalpers, but tickets were soon being offered on the Internet at two-and-a-half times the face value.
