By Trent McMartin Nov 10, 2005, 23:20 GMT
In a recent interview with rock magazine Kerrang, Darkness lead singer Justin Hawkins has slammed U2 singer Bono and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for their "holier than thou" attitude.
"I hate people being holier than thou. Like Bono getting an audience with the Pope, was all for Bono's ego," said Hawkins in the interview.
Hawkins was than asked which singer should burn in hell, the retro rocker responded, "Chris Martin. What are those seven deadly sins again? Greed? Sloth?"
"Calling your child Apple? He's (Martin) terribly vain. I think he has a narcissism complex. He wants to be Bono, but he bleats in interviews about worrying about being ubiquitous."
"Make your f*****g mind up. If you want to be a household name, be a household name."
Concerning Martin's Fair trade cause Hawkins said, "Writing 'Fair Trade' on his hand. If you're concerned about Fair Trade, tattoo it on your skin, don't just f*****g write it on your hand in felt tip."
