U2 singer and Nobel Prize nominee Bono has recently admitted that he should have spent more time with former troubled INXS frontman Michael Hutchence during the last days of his life.
“I felt I had let Michael down because I was lost in my own business and hadn’t called as much as I would have liked,” said the Irish rock star.
“In fact, Ali (Bono’s wife) had spent some time with him (Hutchence) and she'd said he looked a bit shaky to her.”
Michael Hutchence committed suicide in 1997 leaving behind a daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily (also known just as Tiger Lily) who he had with British TV host Paula Yates. Yates passed away in 2000 from an apparent drug overdose leaving ex-husband Bob Geldof to take care of Tiger Lily.

Why would you say something like that about the rest of the band? They were together as a band and friends for 20 years. They have always spoken about how much they loved him and miss him. But they wanted to keep playing music, Inxs music, which does not get anywhere near the respect it deserves. People rip them for doing the Rock Star show, but that was smart business, it got there name out there, they found a new lead singer and they put on a lot of great shows.
The reason a lot of bands are able to sustain their careers is because good management/business practices, not just because they are great musicians(which is too bad, but true). I believe that the band including Michael may have made some bad business decisions in the early 90's which hurt their record sales. But they are an incredible band live and have a catalog of great songs that is up there with just about any group.
People shouldn't make very personal statements about other people's feeling when they don't know what they are talking about.

I love michael hutchence and bono was a tue friend of his. He still seems to miss him as much as ever and is not afraid to talk about michael or honor him.
Too bad the band members of inxs dont feel the same. They want to forget he ever existed and only make a statement about mike if it is good pr for them.
Hindsight is very painful sometimes and that is what bono and probably michaels true friends keep feeling but they shouldnt blame themselves for what happened.
I will always care about and remember michael because he was one in a million and there is nobody else like him around anymore. Bono is an amazing person and so deserving of all the praise and love given to him.
