Coldplay make plans for possible new album?
By Trent McMartin Aug 30, 2005, 17:10 GMT
British act Coldplay may not take much time off before recording their next album, the follow up to this years massively successful X&Y.
According to an interview the band's manager Dave Holmes gave to Billboard.com, the band is "definitely hungry to get back in the studio to make another record."
As for a possible release date for a proposed new album, Holmes went on to say, "they've got a lot of material. So for next year we're looking at building a tour around their recording schedule. Ultimately it could potentially mean we end up releasing another record (next year) and continuing to tour well into '07."
Coldplay's latest album X&Y has sold over 1.9 million copies in the U.S alone, according to Neilson Soundscan figures and spawned the hit single "Speed of Sound", which was the first single by a British rock band to debut in the U.S. top 10 in thirty-seven years. The last group to do such a feat was The Beatles in 1968 with their classic "Hey Jude."
