Robbie Williams to give Intensive Care this October

By Trent McMartin Aug 29, 2005, 23:20 GMT

Robbie Williams is going to have another shot of cracking the North American market when he releases his new album entitled Intensive Care this October.

The album is the follow-up 2003's Escapology, which hit it big in the U.K. but was relatively ignored on this side of the pond.

In a press release Williams described the new album as "something like a mini-gangster opera." The first single "Tripping" will hit radio stations in September with the album's official launch taking place at a one-off gig at the Velodrom in Berlin on October 9. The concert is to be filmed and will be shown live in theatres across Europe.

Williams rose to fame in the early 90's as a member of the U.K boy band Take That who garnered eight number one singles in the U.K. during their hey day. Williams left the band in 1995 to pursue a solo career.
