Singer/ songwriter Brendan James, a son of Derry, New Hampshire, has been crafting his musical career in New York City after he finished college.

James' upcoming release, "The Day is Brave," features the EP, "The Ballroom Break-In," produced by Mikal Blue and is available to listen to on his MySpace page.  HERE

Notably, James also has his music on the soundtrack, ‘Body of War: Songs that Inspired an Iraq War Veteran’ soundtrack, you hear “Hero’s Song” by Brendan James.

James’ song to the soldiers in Iraq was handpicked by the film’s subject and curator, Tomas Young as the lead track on the double disc.  His cut precedes songs from Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, Neil Young, Tori Amos, Ben Harper, Serj Tankian and Eddie Vedder, all the talented company that James keeps with on this compelling soundtrack.

Soldier Tomas Young was wounded during his first week of duty in Iraq, and became paralyzed from the chest down.

How he found James' “Hero’s Song” was through Brendan James’ Myspace page.

The two struck a friendship, and the veteran, Young insisted that “Hero’s Song” appear first on the soundtrack.
