Public Enemies,

On the opening scene, I knew I was going to like this movie, although I agree with Anne it got off to a slow start, but we already know the ending, so what’s the hurry?
Johnny Depp played John Dillinger with a sense of cool calm, style and charisma, and along his journey we got to enjoy the beautiful Art Deco Architecture, the attention to detail was meticulous from the background posters, radios and Billie Holiday tunes.

Marion Colliard was well cast as his scatty girlfriend, she was a practical working class girl caught up in a piece of American Folklore, and personally I thought she was a breath of fresh air.

Christian Bale was convincing as (Melvin Purvis) a cold and calculating career man, out to prove himself. With a hint of a conscience.

The end came with a nod to the Golden Age of Hollywood Gangster Movies, and a sense of changing times, a man who was very much a product of his country and generation. A tearful Goodbye.
