Michael Bay is the death knell of filmmaking as art. He is an overpaid gearhead who lacks any grasp of telling a great (or even GOOD) story.

And Megan Fox is overrated. Her freak thumbs speak volumes.

I waited hours in line yesterday for the midnight opening of Transformers 2 - Revenge of the Fallen. Didn't get to sleep until 3:30 am and then had to get to work in the morning. I am not a teenager so not an easy task but well worth the time and lack of sleep. I have been reading all the reviews and am disgusted with just about all the film critics/wanna-be critics posting bad reviews of this movie. They are trashing the movie for being what it was meant to be! They are trashing Bay for doing what he does well. The first movie was successful because it had a simple plot, good humor, sexual allure, visual appeal, and edge-of-your seat action. The second is a magnified version of the same. And that is what Transformer fans wanted. I didn't stay up all darn night looking to analyze characters or find my epiphany in the plot. I went to enjoy the simplistic, exciting, and energizing escape from life that movies like Transformers provides. I went for entertainment! It was a rush and I recommend anyone who likes this type of movie to see it on the big screen.
Reviewers should only write reviews about movies that interest them or fall into their realm of expertise. If they hate the talent behind it, they will never write praise. Most importantly though, the general public needs to get back to judging for themselves and stop relying on other peoples' opinions.

In regard to cultural cos? Please. 'That's entertainment.' Part of our culture that movie critics profit from.

KinM it is not if you like this type of movie or not. I love the summer blockbuster, but this latest Transformers film is a discrace to filmmaking. Michael Bay clearly can film action sequences, but he makes sure crappy one liner jokes and action is put before plot, storyline and characters. Plot, diaglogue and characters are the most important aspects of a film, but he throws them away. The human characters are boring stereotypical Michael Bay 1 dimensional, most of the robot characters are retarded. Jar Jar Binks come to mind when thinking of some of the robots.

Transformers is a cartoon in enjoyed in my younger year and have fond memories of. I dont think Michael Bay has been the right guy for these movies. Please MB don't make the third if you do.

Blah Blah Blah! That's all people do when the complain about SOMEONE ELSE making a movie! I went and saw the movie opening night and thought it was much improvement from the first. The first one was more character development and Michael Bay did in the second what all die hard Transformer fans were hoping to see: MORE TRANSFORMERS AND MORE ACTION just like in the original animated cartoon TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE. The fact he brought in the Constructicons was amazing! I wish there had been more of the Autobots from the first generation which would've made for a longer movie but the wait in line was well worth it. I even thought it was cool that more of the original Decepticons were brought into the mix like Ravage. If there is a third film for the franchise, I can't wait to see it. It'd be cool if Unicron was brought into the series though it's highly unlikely!

All you haters, quit crying and at least be appreciative that someone was willing to go out on a limb and revive a series from our childhood! I've been a loyal Transformers fan since I was kid and still watch the old cartoons when I can!

Wow! Last night was worth the 5 hour wait at the theater. I thought that Transformers had improved from the first one by ten folds. I laughed more,
my heart raced more, I cheered more and my heart dropped a few times. I thought this movie was exactly what I expected and more. I say every1 should experiance it for themselves. Because i'm going back FRIDAY!

Hey, wait a minute. Were you destroying the movie that made history? Look. Humans are going to watch it. not aliens with over-sized brains.

People want to watch a movie to enjoy it not look on how it sucks. Others are right.

Yes, you are a 'critic' but what you're saying doesn't make sense anymore. The story was simple. It does not need to be so complicated to be a good movie. This movie is for the family and not for distressed aliens.

Reading all your comments on the movie, you were just trashing Bay and destroyed his image as if you are the best director in the whole universe.
