Yep. That about sums it up. I'm a huge fan of the series too and was excited to see it. Due to time line-ups I had to see Star Trek prior to TS and have to say that after Star Trek, I was let down by TS. I haven't looked at my watch @6 times in a movie and noticed how uncomfortable the seats were since the days of having to sit through Chick Flicks. I think The terminator hero in this movie would have made a much better if not livelier John Connor. Kyle Reese was not believable in that he'd turn into Michael Biehn's portrayal of same. Plus the movie ran into the Star Wars fallacy of having more advanced looking/acting terminators than in the original (in the original, the big beasties were tracked). Even the beauty of Moon Bloodgood and the always glamorous (even without hair) Helena Bonham Carter couldn't save this film. Pity. Wait for the DVD.
i thought that this movie was great and i dont get you critics sometimes. its not suppose to be like the other movies because this is the war now and this is how wars are. This movie does have a good story and Bale's character is like this because of all the shit he has been through in his life. i do agree that kyle reese could have been a bit tougher but this is overall a great movie. This movie shouldnt even be compared to the previous 3 because its a whole different story. Plus I dont see how you didnt think thats arnolds face didnt look amazing and realistic in this. Its way better than I ever expected along with this movie! 5 STARS 2 THUMBS WAY UP!
GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best terminator film so far. It kept a fast pace, with plenty of robots, explosions, brutality (very little blood though) and danger for the humans. Its genuinely immersive, and I and my fellow audience were kept at the edge of our seats during the man-robot fight scenes!
Anyone who wants to compare it unfavourably to the earlier movies in the terminator series is probably some kind of spaz face. Yes there were things that didn't make sense but you watch a film like this for killer robots, explosions and action, not for a dutiful references back to the film making and special effects technology of thirty years ago.
Top Quality Entertainment! 5 stars plus an extra!
Terminator Salvation,
Well was I saved?
First this was the movie that Terminator 3 should have been.
My biggest question was Sam Worthington saved by Helen Bonham Carter or condemned by her, and what was his purpose? To Terminator John Conner or to save him, I don’t know? Perhaps both are true, the action scenes where awesome, the acting was good, Moon Bloodgood and Helen Bonham Carter provided good strong female roles, but I felt were under used.
As for the Terminators they came in all shapes and sizes and where awesome, Christian Bale as John Conner , He was everything I expected him to be from the original film, but a hard part to play ,almost a poison chalice, so damaged and burdened by his life and command he has no time to be himself. Anton Yelchin played the young Kylie Reese with a sense of dignity and respect.
As one of the generation of fans who seen the first Terminator movie and loved it. Yes it certainly passed my Judgement Day.
