There are very little movies that can portray a book. Twilight, as a book, is full of details that cant be exspressed as well in a movie. The movie was great! The whole point was to give you a little bit and then the next 2 book are already being produced! They had to wait for this movie to increase their budget. A lot of parts were missing that were in the book but the movie would have been at least 3 HOURS versus the 2 HOURS already! Give them a break.

I haven't read books or seen movie but here is my $0.02 after seeing the actor on Leno:

This is all just a marketing ploy. All of the hype about young girls and stampedes, etc. has all been done to get people excited.

This scrappy haired kid pretended to come out of nowhere - and that the 1/2 pound of styling gel in his hair was actually natural bla bla bla.

In fact he played in the harry Potter movies as dashing clean cut Cedric? I believe.

The only thing that impressed me about his visit to Leno is what a twirp he appeared to be next to Heidi Klume.

If your a fan of the twilight book series i recommend not seeing the movie.First of all in th books the connection between bella and edward is amazing, but in the movie they do a horrible job at actually trying to make us think theyre 'in love'.Second of all they cut out half of the parts in the book that i believed were my favorite parts. They did a horrible job acting. There is no feeling whatsoever coming from Bella and Edward doesn't seem romantic just stiff and awkward.I was very dissapointed with the movie.

I adore the movie but some things could have been piqued, like the meadow was like a grassy mud field. And Alice is a bit out of proportion. But either way I am not a picky person and LOVE the movie to the bottom, and to all who comment about the movie basing on looks of people, that isnt the point, Anyhow, love the movie, Lulu

Seriously, it doesn't matter that they had a small budget. that's a lame excuse. should have gotten a bigger one. the director knew that they would get critisized if they made even the tinyist mistake, and did he care? no.. i think he made so many mistakes on purpose. seriously, they need to completly erase this movie from existance, and remake it.. with better acting and better characters. get a director that knows what the heck he's doing

Ok so i'm late but better late than never, I loved the Twilight book, utterly breathtaking, but the movie was terrible. In the book i felt so much passion between bella nd edward i fell in love with edward myself, it had so much emotion and depth i felt like i was there watching them. But the movie was a total let down bella was so uhhhh edward was hot he was good i jus wish i felt them like i did in the book. It was a mess!

I was scared to see this movie at first because I've read the book and didn't want to be let down. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I EVER SAW ! Totally not a disappointment at all ! It was different from the book on some parts I do admit but over all the actors and the whole story line was perfect! Definitely brought it from Best Buy and I will watch it again !

I was browsing through the reviews and the reviews that said:
'This movie was utterly terrible! It sucked!' Are very wrong. Most of the people that said comments like that are pathetic adolescnet girls who have no lives. Simple as that. They read the book over and over again, and into the theater, their expectations were too high. A movie will NEVER be a book, it was already 2 hours they had to skip some scenes. They didn't have much money, and they portayed the book well in the film with the budget they had. You have to APPRECIATE that. And for all those people who said the acting ws terrible, it wasn't. You weren't going into the theater expecting Tom Hanks or Al Pacino now, were you? They acted pretty well for the young people they are.

Overall I thought the movie was really good, and I really favored the flashback scene where Edward was sucking the venom out of Bella. Sure, a few lines in the movie were a bit cheesy, and I felt that Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Esme and Carlisle weren't in the movie enough, but there will be a LOT of them in the next movie, New Moon coming out November 2009.
So yes it was a great movie. And I'm a 13 year old girl who loves the books, I read all of them, but you don't hear me saying I hate the movie.

Peace

Rosalie and Carlisle looked like they had first time home bleach jobs. Bad effects like you are doing fast forwarding the old reel to reel movies (I'm that old) to make it look like Edward and the Cullens were running faster than humans.

Urm, hello? Guys, it's a movie! All this fuss whether its good or bad is driving me insane! Okay, sure, the books were 100 times better than the movie and its true ladies you are never going to get a stone hard rock for christmas. But the story is delightful and was certainly a fresh change from what I like to call modern day movies. It let me escape for a while and although my personal view on the movie was that it was terrible, I still cannot love the books enough and whatever you think is entirely up to you.

this movie is a mockory of the book. For middle school students like me, it is disapointing.

The Twilight is a badly written rip-off the vampire story. Also the film like the new Harry potter that is just a teen-flick and will be forgotten in years to come.
