OMG, i loved the movie, it did not read the books but i think i will now because of the movei. i really wanted them to have sex or something i felt no love between the 2 main characters. but over all i loved it.
I'm a Twilight Saga fan and I was too excited for this movie to come out. Obviously, I was prepared for disappointment because no book turned to a movie is as good as the book. But, WOW! As other comments have said, there was no chemistry between Edward and Bella (aka the reason the books were written and why we love them so much). Words to sum up the movie: awkward, random, corny, soap-opera-like, and disappointing. The filmakers did a great job at capturing the outlining points in the plot, but there was NOTHING in the middle! Rob and Kristen's acting needed to be turned down a couple watts - they overacted...alot..to the point of laughing. (I was laughing at things that weren't supposed to be funny the whole time!). So all in all, it was a failure, because, if someone who didn't read the books went to go see this movie, they would be like 'Why do you guys like these books so much? I don't get it...'
But since I'm such a big fan, I still say I like it to defend the efforts a little and when it's available to buy I defiantly will! Let's just all cross our fingers that New Moon is better!
I love the book, but the movie is a disaster. Everything went very fast. I mean they fell in love instantly .Hello?.
If someone out there want to watch the movie, I recommend that you read the book first because you will not understand it at all. I didn't expect it to be very good but I didn't expect it to be that horrible.
*sigh*
Seriously, after having such low expectations i actually didn't think i would enjoy the film.
okay so the movie the C h e e s y (and i mean like Cheetos Cheesy!),
and the acting needs some work (kristens sputtering),
and the the film was obviously on a low budget ( edward glittering was more like edward with little adhesive rhinestones on him),
and the makeup was a little off ( carlisle's obvious paleness and jacob's wig..pretty disastrous) but despite all of this, I was actually laughing throughout the whole film. (like the character's facial expressions especially when edward first smell's bella and also when billy gives edward the evil eye and vice versa and i loved how Charlie and Emmett's characters were portrayed!)
I mean seriously, if you are a Twilight Fan, and you've seen the trailers, you need to know not to get too hyped up about it, that way you won't criticize it as much. but knowing that the film wouldn't be as good as the books i just ended up going along with it. hopefully if they do end of doing the rest of the series, they'll have a bigger budget.
okay. first of all. people who are comparing the movie to the book are dimwitted and need to get a life. you cannot compare ANY movie to the book. it just doesn't work. think about it. no movie is better than the book. but the twilight movie was amazing!!!!!
1) in anymovie do they ever use all the exact same lines in the book? no. you cannot think that they're going to do it for twilight. even if the book is utterly awesome.
2) alice was sooo awesome in the movie! i love alice! and think about it. if people say they have her dancing around like a five year old it's because she does! have you seriously ever seen a seventeen year old that doesn't take dance twirl when they walk? no.
3) there was chemistry between robert and kristen! it's why she chose him! she felt it. you cannot base your thought on whether or not there's chemistry by what you see. you actually have to look deeper and feel it!
4) robert may have kept looking away from kristen but that's because edward did! in twilight she describes how they held each others gazes but then he looked away first. always! he always looked away first! robert was just trying to capture the essence of exactly what edward did! and that's exactly what edward did and how he did it!
5) yeah the sparkles were awesome! how else would you make a person sparkly? seriously. have you ever seen it done before? no. and they would not think he was a deranged little kid running around. did he look like he was running? i don't think so. he looked good in the sparkles and there was no other way an independent film could've portrated it. there may not have been another way any film could've portrayed it.
6) idk why everyone is saying they hated it. give me some real reasons. besides bella dances around like a five year old, the sparkles sucked, there wasn't enough chemistry, and it wasn't like the book. this was an independent film with not much money. how much like the book do you want it? exactly like it? no. because seriously, everyone pictures it in their mind so much more romantic. but it's supposed to be awkward, it's supposed to be stiff, they're supposed to look away from each other all the time. they're each others first love. neither of them has ever had a bf or gf. think about it. when you're 13 or 14 and you have your first bf isn't it a lil awkward? for me it was. thats how edward and bella are. they are first loves and true loves, and it's awkward. deal with it.
ok i wasnt happy when i started reading Twilight but then it was the only thing that made me happy i read all four books in less than a month and i LOVE all of them they r wonderful and i was extremely excited when i heard that they were making a move then i saw the movie and THEY COMPLETELY MESSED UP THE STORYLINE.... i absolutely HATE this movie it made me so mad and i can not get over this and the actors wasnt EDWARD suppose to be AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL? I mean sorry but hea wasnot and this girl who played BELLA isnt a good actor at all! THEY NEED TO REMAKE the movie and put more important details in their! they really do!
I am not so susprised that alot of people think Twilight was a flop; Stewart (deepest aplolgies if I mis-spell names)was not the best choice. She didn't ruin it, don't get me wrong, but that girl from a Sereis of Unfortunate Events would have been, perhaps, a better idea. Robert was fine, but overly made up. There should have been more jealuosly with Mike, Laurn, Jessica and Rosalie, that would've ment that there were minor enemies as well as big ones. Like, Laurn=Malfoy and James=Voldemort. Big badies AND little badies. My only other complaints are screaming fans (my hearing is permantly damaged) and that the vampires seemed to float or fly more than leap with deadly grace...but thats just a little problemo all of my own.
The movie wasnt that bad. True they did miss a lot of important sceans such as the chemistry lab with the blood and some other things it potrayed the book pretty well. And now thanks to alll of us who did see it the producers can create an even better NewMoon with the budget tey have. Soo stop complaing no movie is ever as good as the book you just have to use a litlle imagination!
and there it was! the famous twilight was aired here in Philippines. I adore all about twilight and the entire books to follow. I love to see how people reacted on how the director or the movie perse interpreted the story; too many point of views, in detailed disgust etc. etc.. I find those who contradict very lame and (I think) has poor artistic passion. sorry, but I love the movie because contrary to all the accusations, it was greatly delivered detouring from those spoon feeding and usual fiction film, you guys wanted a very predictable movie,.yes, I agree that it seemed low budget but thats the crappiest thought of u to use. Two thumbs up for the cast who gave those intense and remarkable expressions well. The cast fits their character. I advice you to study arts especially filming.. u'll understand what I'm talking.
I agree that the movie did not do the book any justice; you dont need a big budget to act, they are actors...so act. and why is carlise hotter than edward? edward should be making every girl and woman swoon not cringe. im not dissing edward i think he's the best thing since johnny depp but pattison was horrible, girls, push aside the image you have projected onto pattison and you will see that he just WRONG for the part.
stewart wasnt any better; she seems stuck up. her face in the movie just says 'im bella, im pretty, im hot, im going to be famous because of this movie' not 'im bella, im new, im ordinary, i just want to survive high school' no skils at all.
i loved the books, they were extremely well written and grabbing but the movie doens do it for me.
Yes, i understand that the movie wasnt exactly like the book, but seriously that movie WAS NOT horrible! It was still amazing. People were having too high expectations, thats why they were dissapointed. Obviously, the movie wont be the same as the book i mean what movie is the same? And yes i know they did skip some important parts, but thats why we read the book. That movie was already 2 hours long. They TRIED to put everything they could, but they cant put EVERYTHING, then that movie would've been like 4 hours long. Yes, it true that they could've have a little more chemistry, but relax, its just the first movie, there are 3 more to come! Oh! that reminds me, i heard something about Jacob, well taylor lautner. I heard that he wont be in the others movie and that they are replacing him with Steven Strait(i think thats the name; hes the guy from sky high that had fire powers)because he needs to grow fast or something like that. I really hope they dont change characters : D and the part where Edward jumps on her truck, WOAH! Super Hot. There, just in the part, him and Bella had a whole lot of chemistry (: They were way too cute :D iloveeeeeeeeeeeeeeTWILIGHT
owi loved this movie it had so many effects
I was very happy that I read the books before I went to see the movie. I do not believe that the movie would make much sense if you did not read the books first. There are so many little things like Edwards extreme uneasiness when the wind blows Bella's scents towards him, and also if you didn't read the book I do not know if you can appreciate how different Edward really was.
I saw the movie twice and really enjoyed it more the second time. I could read their thoughts and movements better.
I am really looking forward to the next movies....until then I will dream of a man that is like Edward. Someone who will love me more then anything, and is rich and gorgeous to boot.
My Edward where are you?
I'd have to agree with DANGEROUSLYinadequate.
This movie MADE SHREK LOOK BEAUTIFUL, MADE SHAKESPHEARE THE MUST UNROMANTIC MAN OF ALL TIMES, AND WORSE OF ALL! DISGUST AND SMEAR EDWARD'S SPARKLY IMAGE!!! Why:
1. Charlie didn't seem like the Charlie we all know. He was a quiet person, but he still cares but we don't see much of it in the movie.
2. When Edward first spoke to Bella, he seemed nervous and his voice was SOO disappointing. Talk about low confidence.
3. THE MOVIE WAS BARELY TWILIGHT! Did you know the first thing the director saw was that Bella was a track star?!? No, they cutted that but they cutted the book also. No, they didn't cut the book, they cutted the STORY!!!!
4. Jacob doesn't meet UNTIL Bella went to La Push.
5. Bella didn't even flirt with Jacob like the real story goes.
6. Jacob didn't dance with Bella during prom!
7. When Bella was in the hospital, Edward said things about leaving and he never did in the real story!! EDWARD WOULD NEVER SAY SUCH THINGS TO BELLA IN HER CURRENT CONDITION!! SHE COULD HAVE GONE INTO A COMA FOR GOODNESS'S SAKE!
8. YES! Where is the Why-Does-Rosalie-Hate-Me issue?! Two parts shown Rosalie's hatred, what did Bella do? Stare with her googly eyes and nothing else. Disappointing!
9. When Edward was 'sparkling' he wasn't! HE WAS SWEATING! I'm sure that vampires don't sweat. He wasn't even glittering. I was really disappointed.
And 10, most of all: WHERE WAS BELLA AND HER BLOOD-PHOBIA SCENE?! She was in Biology and they did a blood test. THAT WAS A GOOD PART!!
I absolutely loved the movie which is pretty strange seeing that most of everyone who saw it was extremely disappointed. I think there was excellent chemistry between Bella and Edward. His drawn back demeanor and her awkwardness for life to make more sense than being dumped off by her mother was an interesting thing to watch. He had passion and misplaced trust in his self and she seemed more accepted to the fact that he was dead and actually wanted to join him. And for most people who were upset about the whole missing scenes that made the book so good. Review your list and figure how much longer the movie would have been. And then take into account that there are ppl like myself who haven't read the book but was given enough to want to read the book and literally craving to find out all the things the movie left as a treasure hunt.I am an absolute vampire lover.anything with them I watch.and was a little disappointed that this movie did not follow the usual guidelines to these undead demons. But then I had to respect the writer because this series of books were geared toward makinging it more realistic than making it like every other horror love movie. and lastly movies are not meant to replicate the book.there basically there to give you the need to read and keep watching.which is what I'm going to do.
i've read the book, loved it, watched the movie, read the reviews, couldn't agree more. It is obvious that the ppl making the movie knew it would be a success even b4 it primiered. Perhaps that is what is incensing everyone, we got fooled! what we wanted was absolute chemistry between bella and edward, forgive the cuts of certain scenes, i would just be happy if those 2 absolutely LOVED each other! not in the awkward how do i approach each other way, i mean the almost worship type of way. bella just couldn't believe her luck, not scared to death. as for other characters, well yeah, carlisle is more handsome, and everything is kinda off, not entirely but off. in short, this movie needs ppl who eat, breathes sleeps twilight to pull it off and certainly these ppl are just out to swindle us.
I think they got everyone perfect, but what happened to Edward? It was awesome in the other sense, though. I read the books and had a hard time watching the movie cuz I already had a imange of all the people. so yeah wacth it.....
Movie: Twilight
I thought TwilightI (i've never read the books) was an amazing movie! Some of my friends that saw it with me said they were dissapointed in the begining of the movie because in the book there is a lot more important scens. I give the movie either an 8 or a 9 because some scens were hard to follow at some points but mabey its because i havnt read the books. Some scens did make sense at the end. The kissing scens were great and very beliveable. I thought the movie was for sure one of the best made. I was not very excited walking into the theater but came out saying to my friends lets go see it again ! Im going to start reading the books right away.
A lot of people are complaining that it missed a lot of important scens and Edward and Bella fell in love to fast but think about it the movie was already 2 hours long how much more longer could they of really made it.
When I heard about the 'Twilight' saga, I was a non believer. I found some of the story line I had heard so much about, to be completely unbelievable, unrealistic and difficult to comprehend. Vampires who dont eat humans?? So, my friend gave me her copy and insisted I read it.
I couldnt put the book down. The only break I took was to go purchase the remaining books in the set and finish them! I fell in love with Alice and her aura within the series.
That being said, if I had seen the movie first I would have laughed at the thought of reading the book!
The things we fell in love with were completely extricated from the movie. For me, Alice's quirky sesnse of humor. The fact that Jasper actually has a supernatural power. That Esme craves to be a mother. The relationship between Bella and ALL of the family (even Rosalie). To say it was dissapoinitng not to have seen these in the movie would be an understatement!
Lets hope Eclipse makes up for it!
