For the person that made the comment below: If this is the worst film you have ever seen, then they don't let you out very often.

Finally a review that doesn't have an agenda against Night. It's a good movie.

Far and away the worst movie I've ever seen. I left the movie and went to the box office to see if I could get a refund. I wish I had my $10 and my 90 minutes back
Pure trash

This movie is a total waste of time! Please do yourself a favor and save your money for something actually worth $10.50. I will never again see a movie by Night... He sucks!!

The best part of the movie was when some guy chucked his slush puppie at the screen and walked out apart from that the movie sucked donkey butt. I would rather watch woopie goldberg have sex with the powderpuff girls for 5 hours then ever consider going back to that god forsaken movie

The Happening is exactly what Shyamalan set out to create: a really great, creepy B-movie. I'd read the terrible reviews before seeing it last night, and agree that there are some dumb lines, but overall came away thoroughly creeped out. Forboding atmosphere throughout. Humor and horror mixed beautifully, as any B movie should have. I loved it.

I sat there and waited and waited for the scary part. Yes, all the deaths were horrible, new and creative ways to die...blah blah blah. Gross yes, scary NO. Is it possible for the enviroment to take over... look around it is already happening... no pun intended. I was bored to tears!

I was so looking forward to Night's new release, however, this one... so not worth the wait. I also just could not wrap my head around Mark Walburg being a whimmy hey lets just keep running kind of guy. I so wanted him to find a way to defeat it.

There were more laughs in the theater I was in than gasps of horror. The best part had to be the hotdog guy.. He was very amusing in an otherwise very dull movie. So I'm not sure if the writer of this artical and I saw the same movie or if he is just easily scared. He was right about the chick playing the wife.. maybe we should take up a collection and help her get some acting lessons... lol

Worst piece of crap I've ever seen. Never posted a review in my life, felt obligated to jump on here and see if anyone on the planet actually liked this film. I nearly flew into a rage at the end of the movie, especially when they hinted at a sequel! Whats next, German Daschunds committing suicide because Aussie dog food importations are ceased when German/Aussie relations hit an all time low! MAKE SENSE? No I didnt think so either, but I guess if Mr Shyamalan got a heads up on that idea it'll be hitting cinemas quicker than you can say 'Mark Wahlberg, READ THE PLOT FIRST!!!' P.S. The weirdos giving a good review on this should have there heads read, or your clearly been smoking weed!!! OOOOHHH, weeds a plant dudes, ITS GONNA GET YA!!!

i've just seen this movie and loved it - cannot believe the bad reviews it is receiving! It was horrifying to the point where I felt physically sick but couldn't stop watching and even though the end was abit weak it was memorable and i would recommend it to everyone!

I took my wife to this movie last night. I feel like one of P.T. Barnum's suckers - what a complete waste of both time and money. The popcorn was good though. This movie is pathetic, and I am a fan of M. Night's work up until now. After this preachy, lame farce about mankind destroying the planet and the planet fighting back (although none of the plot makes any sense or has any real rhyme or rhythm to it) I do not think I'll ever pay to see anything by M. Night Shymalan again.

What a stink-fest! Hollywood has to stop giving this guy money to make crap movies. He has been on the down slide since SIGNS and it keeps gettng worse. Mark Wahlberg was laughable, especially having him play a high school teacher. His lines were absurd and Zooey Deschanel! Could she make her eyes any bigger? Great CGI effects on the guy getting his arms eaten off by the lion (LOL)! People who think this film had any redeeming qualities need to re-examine their perspectives! The apocalyptic movie from the 70's, FROGS, made more sense than this. I will never, ever, ever, be duped into seeing another movie made by this ego-maniac!

I thought M. Night's films since 'Sixth Sense' had been nothing but trash. That being said, the trailers compelled me to see this and find out if he had any magic left. What a mistake.

For the first time in my life, I actually felt truly cheated after the movie ended. Cheated enough to be angry about this. I am not just chalking this up as another bad film or waste of time. There have been many of those, especially in recent years as Hollywood spills out more and more ridiculous, unoriginal fodder.

This time, I wanted my money back. This was like watching a crazy Al Gore film, only my guess would be that his inconvenient truth movie was far more entertaining for all his fellow lunatic greenies. This was no thriller. It was a bunch of far left wing propaganda that was conveniently eliminated from the trailer and the lead-up to the screening so rear ends would flow into the theater for the opening weekend.

Aside from the fact that the movie's plot is an absolute joke, M. Night turned Wahlberg into mush. By far his worst performance. His wife in the film 'Zooeey nobody' gave one of the most laughable performances I can remember seeing on a big screen. This woman got paid for that?

I thought I was sitting through a practical joke and just kept waiting for the revelation that there was something legitimate causing all of the deaths. There is no climax to the story at all. What amazes me is that in this movie and all his movies, you always get the sense that this M. Night takes such pride in his originality and 'great' ideas. It's like he's bragging on screen, while the rest of us are laughing at each disgrace that he's been allowed to release. He's the kid from high school who thinks he's really cool, but he's really a little nerd who just ignores the rest of the class.

This is a movie that simply cheated everyone who spent their hard earned money and 90 minutes of their time hoping to be entertained by an apocalyptic thriller. It should be considered a crime!

i am a fan of M.Night and i got to say that was by far the worst big budget movie i have ever seen. the acting was really bad, and the writing was sooo bad i laughed out loud in the movie theater. It had an interesting idea only to be spoiled by a poor movie. Do not see this i mean save the money, every1 booed at the end not because of a twist ending but because the movie was that bad. (a guy says cheese and crackers when he realizes he might die) i mean wtf is that.

Im so glad I watched this for free on the internet. I was wondering the whole movie if the acting and writing was bad on purpose becauses its so obvious. This movie was horrable on every level. Id rather watch 2 autistic kids play water polo then set my eyes on this pice of poop.

It's fashionable to hate M. Night Shyamalan. I haven't seen The Happening yet but it's pretty obvious many of those who dogged it went in with their minds made up. They're sheep who were ready to believe it was awful so regardless of what they saw they were going to diss it since they were preconditioned to do so. Those would be the people using 5th grade terminology to express themselves, the ones who sound like preening, prepubescent bullies looking for a fight so they can establish their yet-to-bloom manhood. I'm sure a fair number of them left the theater, turned on top 40 radio and had dinner at McDonald's while railing against how awful the movie was. I have the urge to ask people like that if they know the definition of the word 'banal' and I am fully prepared for a blank stare.

The movie might suck, it might be great or it might (likely) be a mixed bag. But I'll strive to make my opinion my own instead of just mimicking someone else's trendy take. God, I hate that crap.
