Quit analyzing it to death, and just enjoy! I'm glad I wasn't sitting next to or in front of you at the theatre!
I read reviews right before i went to see it, and i wanted to hate it. Every review of the film was terrible. However i loved it, i don't know why, but it was a fairly entertaining movie.
Don't listen to all the commentaries. Enjoy PoC3 for yourself. I like it best
of all three. Capt'n Jack was more in his element...mostly on water or on a ship. Sit through the credits & enjoy an ending scene!!! I suspected that
since I am a mother. GO JOHNNY GO!!!
To quote Brother Keith Riff-hard, 'you shouldn't take it so hard,' if you didn't you would get much more 'satisfaction' out of the flick. What is wrong with you people? Do you think that they thought they were making 'Casablanca'? I've got the fever and the only think that will cure it is more POTC Part IV return of Capt. Jack's dad one of those prequels that explores the complicated and troubled relationship between Depp and Richards featuring cameos by the gay first mate Sir Mick Jagger. They ought to sign the entire band up including Ron Wood. It could be one of those ensemble pieces just like Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band this time without the bloody Bee Gees and Peter Frampton. Odd that the Beatles would permit their music to be whored for that movie but won't put it on I-Tunes?
But me, I'm just one person what do I know?

This review was fabulously badly written. It took mammoth effort to reach the end, at which point the only thing I could think about not the movie in question, but how Anne Brodie manages to get paid for spewing in to a bucket.
Perhaps she was so upset after watching the film she decided to inflict upon the readers such literary baubles as: '‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ is at world’s end and has fallen off.' or the description of Naomie Harris' performance as 'balls to the wall'.
Thanks Anne, the next time I see an M&C link from Google news I'll know to stay away.
I'll agree that Kiera Knightley is kind of annoying--that pouty mouth half open thing she does all the time REALLY bugs me. It's almost as if she can't think if her mouth is closed.
That being said:
I loved this movie! I thought that it had far more plot and character development than the second movie. It's a toss up for me which one is the best--the first or the third. The thing to remember about this trilogy is that it wasn't ever really supposed to happen. The first Pirates of the Caribbean movie was created as a stand alone flick. They wanted to make a fun movie--a blockbuster that would sell some popcorn and give people a few laughs. It was only after it was a huge success and people demanded more that they made it into a trilogy.
POC was never meant to be taken seriously or be deconstructed. It's meant to entertain. The whole goal is to make people suspend their disbelief for a couple of hours because they're having fun. The secondary goal is to sell popcorn and merchandise. Both goals are accomplished. I really hope there aren't going to be any more POCs. I'd hate to see this fun story get Land Before Timed.
I'm kind of sad that you didn't have fun with any of it. By trying to take it seriously, it seems like you missed out. :(

Pirates of the Caribbean 3, At Worlds End is an AMAZING movie. We were very happy with the movie. DONT LISTEN TO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY, THE MOVIE IS THE BEST, you wont be disipointed! Go Jackie Go, Just KISS HER Turner!
WE LOVE JOHNNY!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm relieved to see that every reader comment so far has called this critic to task for hating the movie. I'll never understand a world that pays certain people to take a crap on things that other people clearly love. How sad (and predictable) that a 'professional' film critic would complain about such cliche's as too much plot and too long a running time.
Seriously? Is that the best you can do?
*sigh* I loved this movie unabashedly! Seen it multiple times already... and will likely see it again. And for the record, I'm not a teenage girl with a crush on anything Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom put out. But I am a video game player. And yet somehow I still had no problem whatsoever following the story. How do you explain that, ma'am?
