Blame Universal Pictures, who decamped from a prime oscar release date (early November)after a middling review of the unfinished movie, they then dumped it on Christmas Day (US) and didn't bother promoting it - too late a release date and no support fom the studio = no oscars, well I tell a lie there, Lubecki will DEFINATELY WIN THE OSCAR for Cinematography, but that is small potatoes when it should get Picture, Director (Cuaron), Actor(Owen), Supporting Actress (Ashitey) and Supporting Actor (Caine), Adapted Screenplay, Editing, sound Editing and Score nominations as a minimum.

In my opionion it should also win Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actress, Adapted Screenply, Cinematography, Editing, Sound Editing.
