From Monsters and Critics.com Movies News Daniel Day-Lewis is in talks to star in Rob Marshall’s musical Nine – which is being released through the Weinstein Co. Variety reports Day-Lewis would handle the role of Guido Contini, and would replace Javier Bardem - who dropped out of a planned fall start due to exhaustion from work and the awards season. The role is of a famous film director who experiences personal and creative crisis while trying to balance all the women in his life. His women will be played by Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench. The original stage musical took its inspiration from the Fellini film "8½." It was adapted for the screen by Michael Tolkin and had a rewrite by Anthony Minghella. The musical is being produced by Marc Platt, Marshall and John DeLuca. © Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com. This notice cannot be removed without permission. |
