From Monsters and Critics.com Movies News Los Angeles - Star Wars creator George Lucas has donated 175 million dollars to build a new film school at his alma mater, the University of Southern California (USC), the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. The gift from the filmmaker's Lucasfilm Foundation builds on Hollywood's historical support for the film school, which was established in 1929 as a collaboration between USC and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The new 14,000-square-metre facility will modernize and expand the film school's cramped facilities, with an emphasis on merging Hollywood's storytelling skills with emerging digital technologies. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur© Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com.
