Cameron terminates rumors

Though the reaction to it was somewhat mixed, ‘Terminator 3’ was a solid financial success. That’s lead to a ‘Terminator 4’, which many had hoped might mark the return of James Cameron to the killer robot franchise. But Moviehole says forget it, Mostow is still coming back.

In an interview with The Times, Cameron quickly ruled out both ‘T4’ and ‘True Lies 2’ as being on his horizon. Having just emerged from his 3D camera equipped submarine and returned to dry land, he’s much too busy with his current projects, including a movie adaptation of the Anime property ‘Battle Engine Alita’.

If Cameron is definiutely out, that clinches return of Jonathan Mostow in the director’s chair, and now it looks like Claire Danes will also be back with the franchise as well. She co-starred alongside Nick Stahl in ‘T3’ and when last we saw her, was huddled with him in a bunker while Skynet sent the world to hell.

Is Stahl coming back? What about Kristanna Loken? Loken’s busy with her first lead role in Uwe Boll’s already-being-panned vampire flick ‘BloodRayne’ while Nick won some acclaim for his role as That Yellow Bastard in Robert Rodriguez ‘Sin City’ earlier this year. He’s also just finished shooting the Indie ‘The Night of the White Pants’. No word for sure on if either of those actors will be involved in a sequel, but you’d think Nick Stahl's return would be essential.

Of course the only person who really matters is Arnie. Is he on the radar? They want him, but with the Terminator tied up in his busy political career, screenwriter John Brancato says he has an alternate plan in the likely eventuality that they can’t get him.
