Charlie Chan franchise moves forward with Lucy Liu

20th Century Fox have hired Dan McDermott to write an update of Charlie Chan.The Hollywood Reporter says Jennifer Klein will produce and Lucy Liu will star.The project will focus on the granddaughter of the fictional Chinese-American sleuth and McDermott says Liu will carry the franchise into the 21st Century.
