Animated 9 from Focus

Universal's Focus Features are to make the animated movie 9, which Tim Burton is producing.
Variety reports Shane Acker will direct the film that is based on a short he has already made.
The story takes place in a parallel world where humanity is threatened by...well no word on that yet, but it is described as a surreal fantasy.
The screenplay will be written by Pamela Pettler who also wrote Burton's Corpse Bride.
