Casting for Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers

Based on James Bradley's (son of one of the men) book novel Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima. Chronicles perhaps the most famous moment in American military history. When six men raised the flag at Iwo Jima. Here is the true story behind the immortal photograph that has come to symbolize the courage and indomitable will of America.
The Hollywood Reporter says Phillippe will play Bradley, Beach an alcoholic American Indian called Ira Hayes and Bradford will play Rene Gagnon, who is a bit of a ladies' man.
Filming is due to start next month in Iceland, Washington, Los Angeles and Chicago.
