Jamie Foxx and Usher cast in Dreamgirls

Jamie Foxx and Usher have been cast in Dreamgirls.
The film is the defacto story of the rise of Diana Ross and the Supremes during their formative years.
Based on the hit Broadway musical about a trio of young black female singers who strive to cross over to the white-dominated pop charts in the early '60s bowed in 1981.
Variety reports Foxx will play the role of the manager, Curtis Taylor Jr., of the upcoming female group with Usher playing choreographer C.C. White.
It is also thought the studio are looking to cast Eddie Murphy as singer James "Thunder" Early.
