Paul Weitz will direct American Dreamz from his own script for Universal Pictures.Variety reports Hugh Grant, Dennis Quaid, Chris Klein and Mandy Moore are all in talks to star.The film is a satire of U.S. politics and show business. Weitz told Variety: "The movie examines the role of dreams and ambitions in American culture.""It's about what's wrong with America and how close it is to what's right with America."The movie will follow the various characters that include a disaffected British TV personality played by Grant and the U.S. President having a nervous breakdown (Quaid).Filming is expected to start early summer.
