Gong Li Heads for Miami Vice and New Lecter Film

Actress Gong Li has been cast in Michael Mann's forthcoming big screen version of "Miami Vice."The Hollywood Repoter says the actress will join the Universal Pictures movie alongside Colin Farrel and Jamie Foxx. Playing Isabella, the Chinese-Cuban wife of the leader of a transnational crime syndicate and Crockett's love interest.The actress will follow that with "Behind the Mask", the next installment in the Lecter seris scripted by "The Silence of the Lambs" author Thomas Harris. In the movie, directed by Peter Webber, she will play Lady Murasaki, a Japanese woman who educates a young Lecter on the finer points of culture.Gong Li can also be seen in the anthology "Eros" and the much anticipated "Memoirs of a Geisha."
