Bill Condon Wins UK Directors Guild Award

Condon eased out Oscar winner Clint Eastwood who was also in the running for "Million Dollar Baby."In the UK category "My Summer Love" and "Dead Man's Shoes" shared the top prize."Kinsey" explores the life of the pioneer of human sexuality research, Alfred Kinsey. The interviewer of thousands, Kinsey subjected his own life and that of his researchers to the same type of analysis that produced his 1948 best-selling book "Sexual Behavior in the Human Male." Other winners included "The Motorcycle Diaries," which took best foreign language film, and Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") who took away a lifetime achievement award, which was presented to him by Kevin Spacey.The ceremony took place in London at the Curzon Mayfair cinema.You can find out more about "Kinsey" in our database.
