By James Wray Mar 21, 2005, 8:55 GMT
It was party time in Wellington, New Zealand as Peter Jackson hosted a huge party to celebrate the end of principal photography on his version of "King Kong."
The "Lord of the Rings" director threw a carnival like celebration at the 1930's New York set of the film, inviting over 1000 of the cast and crew involved in the production.
According to local newspaper the Dominion Post stars Adrien Brody and Jack Black were also present, though Naomi Watts was absent due to promotional work with her latest movie "The Ring Two."
The party included children’s fairground rides, fancy dress and free bananas...lots of the later according to local newspapers.
The movie finished filming around three weeks ago, with the sets due to be removed shortly. "King Kong" will be heading to the theatre this December.
