Aaron Eckhart Cast as Cop in The Black Dahlia

The Hollywood Reporter says Eclhart will play one the police officers investigating the murder of an actress.
Based on the book by James Ellroy, "The Black Dahlia" is set in 1940s Los Angeles. Two cops, Bucky Bleichert and Lee Blanchard, investigate the death of Elizabeth Short, a young woman brutally murdered. Bucky soon realizes that his girlfriend had ties to the deceased, and uncovers corruption and conspiracy within the police department.
Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johansson and Hilary Swank are already cast.
