Is Quentin Tarantino to Direct Next in Friday the 13th Franchise?

It is being reported that Quentin Tarantino is in final negotiations to write and direct the Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie, the latest from "Friday the 13th" franchise for New Line.
IGN FilmForce says this is to replace "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash," which never got up and runnning.
The film itself, with or without Tarantino, is expected to get underway very soon.
