Nicolas Cage Set for Remake of The Wicker Man

Variety reports the Cage has signed on to star director Neil LaBute's planned remake of 1973 film, which starred Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland and Christopher Lee.
LaBute, who adapted the screenplay, has shifted the action to the USA where a sheriff investigates the disappearance of a young girl on a remote island off the coast of Maine. His hopes of finding the girl become increasingly uncertain as he unearths evidence of pagan rituals.
The film stars production in July in Vancouver.
