The Hollywood Reporter says Stephen Sommers will direct with Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel adapting the novels.
The books follow Ben Holiday, a lawyer, who finds little satisfaction in his work. His yearning for a simpler life seems thwarted when he finds the magic kinddom of Landover, a close analogy of Earth, with precariously balanced powers threatening each other, massive pollution, and general discontent centering on a lack of faith in leaders.
The director commented to the trade: "You think it would be great to own your own magic kingdom, but it would go all awry," he said.

It was true, but they have taken out the two daughters because they didn't add to the plotline. You can find details on Terry Brook's website.

There's a rumor -most likely not JUST a rumor- going around that says Ben will have two teenage daughters in the movie, opposed to the book in which he was all alone. Fans of the books are on guard and already critisizing the movie because of this.
Can anybody tell me -and everyone else- if it's true or not?
